What can I expect when coming to counselling?
What can I expect when coming to counselling?
After getting in contact with myself you will be offered an initial assessment which will be for 30 minutes. During the initial we will discuss your presenting issues and what you want from counselling. My role during the initial is to gather information that would help me to decide which would be the best way to work with you. From this a plan would be created by myself that is tailored to your needs. During the initial we will also discuss contracting and if your happy to proceed, we will sign contracts and arrange our first session.
Sessions will then run weekly and within the sessions we will explore the areas covered on the plan. During the sessions I will offer you tools, techniques and coping strategies to manage your mental health, worries and presenting issues more effectively. Together we work towards a healthier mindset and a better relationship with yourself. Sessions will continue to you feel ready to end, we will review regularly during the counselling process.
